Moroto Regional Emergency Operation Center (EOC)

The Moroto EOC serves as the nerve center for managing emergencies, disasters, and public health crises in the Karamoja region. It coordinates the response efforts of various healthcare teams, emergency services, and government agencies. Utilizes advanced communication systems and protocols to ensure swift and effective response to emergencies. Conducts regular drills and training sessions to enhance preparedness and response capabilities.

Community Health Services

Engages in community outreach programs to promote health education and disease prevention.  Provides immunizations, screenings, and health checks to detect and prevent common illnesses.  Collaborates with local community leaders and organizations to address specific health challenges and needs. Empower community members to take proactive measures for their health and well-being through education and awareness campaigns.

General Clinic:

Offers a wide range of primary healthcare services to patients of all ages and backgrounds.  Provides diagnosis, treatment, and management of common medical conditions such as respiratory infections, malaria, and minor injuries.  Conducts regular health screenings and check-ups to monitor patients' overall health status.  Works closely with other departments and specialists for comprehensive patient care and referrals when necessary.

Specialized Clinic:

Houses specialized departments and units catering to specific medical needs and conditions. Includes specialized clinics such as pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, internal medicine, etc. Employs highly skilled healthcare professionals and utilizes advanced medical equipment and technology. Offers specialized treatments, procedures, and therapies tailored to the unique needs of patients in the region.

Medical Social Work:

Provides psychosocial support and counseling to patients and their families facing medical challenges. Assists patients in accessing healthcare services, financial assistance, and community resources. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to address social determinants of health and improve patient outcomes. Advocates for patients' rights and helps them navigate the healthcare system effectively.

Research Department:

Conducts research studies and clinical trials to advance medical knowledge and improve healthcare practices. Focuses on addressing local health challenges and priorities through evidence-based research. Collaborates with national and international research institutions, universities, and funding agencies. Disseminates research findings through publications, conferences, and community outreach programs to benefit patient care and public health.

Pharmacy Services:

Manages the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Ensures the safe and appropriate use of medications through accurate dispensing and patient education. Monitors medication adherence and potential drug interactions to optimize patient safety and outcomes. Provides pharmaceutical care services such as medication therapy management and counseling to enhance patient understanding and compliance.
